The Beer Baron Retreat

Enjoy Old Milwaukee hospitality mixed with modern day comforts and kick back with a cold beer reserved just for you. The classic décor of this one bedroom apartment celebrates the luxury lakefront lifestyle of Milwaukee's Beer Barons and Baronesses in the historic Knickerbocker on the Lake. It's a quiet sanctuary with all of the modern amenities to make for a relaxing stay in Milwaukee.  Free Wi-Fi and Internet.

For beer enthusiasts or history buffs, be sure to check out the Milwaukee Historical Society’s downtown exhibit on Brew City or head west on Wisconsin Avenue directly to the Pabst Mansion to check out how the Beer Barons really lived. The Pabst Brewery complex is a perfect place to end your day or perhaps check out the beer caverns of old during a Miller Brewery tour.  Plus, enjoy sampling a variety of local breweries taking the craft to the next level. Milwaukee’s always up for rolling out the barrel and showing you a good time!

Just outside your door enjoy strolling in the lakefront’s Juneau Park or relaxing in the beer garden. At the south end of the park is the Milwaukee Art Museum’s stunning Calatrava pavilion, Discovery World and the Summerfest Grounds. The lakefront parks feature swimming and sunning on the beach, tennis courts, fishing and kite flying.  For easy access to Milwaukee’s many other cultural attractions, sports arenas, concert venues, restaurants, bars and nightlife, take a free ride on Milwaukee’s streetcar, The Hop, or catch a nearby bus. Bublr bike rentals are another fun way to take in the sites including the Oak Leaf Bike Trail along the lakefront, or the Hank Aaron Bike Trail that takes you out to the ballpark at American Family Field.

Great place in a great neighborhood. I had everything I needed for an enjoyable stay and the hosts offered some nice touches to make me comfortable - water in the fridge, snacks available, chocolate treats by the bedside. Street parking turned out to be very easy. The condo was extremely quiet - which can be hard to come by in a bustling city neighborhood. The place was clean, bed was comfy, and the kitchen was nicely appointed. Nice bar on the ground floor to visit with friends. - Laurel

I was in town for business and this place was super convenient to everything Downtown. Comfortable, quite by night and sunny by day. I appreciated the grab-and-go variety of breakfast bars, teas and coffee to start the day. I'm also a beer lover and enjoyed the decor highlighting MKE’s brewing history! - Rebecca
